HRACO’s Workforce Readiness community actively supports local organizations, businesses, and workforce development initiatives through sustained partnerships and the sharing of valuable resources. We recognize the importance of this space in shaping a skilled and thriving workforce, and we strive to make a difference in the lives of individuals and the success of businesses in our community.

To expand our reach and facilitate access to essential services, HRACO has created the 2023 Workforce Readiness resource guide. This comprehensive guide serves as a valuable tool for HR professionals and other key stakeholders, providing a centralized listing of current workforce development and support services available in Central Ohio.

Community Workforce Readiness Providers

Alvis

Nonprofit human services agency providing treatment programs. Services include research-based, comprehensive reentry and family support programs; behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services; recovery housing for women and their children; and services to individuals with developmental disabilities who are trying to live more independently in the community.

CareSource

A leading nonprofit health insurance company whose mission is to make a lasting difference in members' lives by improving their health and well-being. Caresource offers Ohio Medicaid, Marketplace, and Medicare Advantage health plans.

Columbus Metropolitan Library

Seeks to inspire reading, share resources, and connect people. One of their strategic focuses is on life skills for the purpose of reaching the outcome of a community that reaches its potential.

Columbus Urban League

Looks to empower African Americans and disenfranchised groups through economic, educational, and social progress. The Columbus Urban League is a premier customer-driven organization advocating to empower individuals and deliver transformational services with integrity, innovation, and collaboration.

Columbus Works

Focused on eliminating poverty in Central Ohio through transformational workforce training, job placement services, and longterm barrier removing wrap around services. Their relational approach provides hope and encouragement to neighbors living in poverty who desire to advance to economic self-sufficiency.

Community Shelter Board

Maximizes effective and efficient use of resources to serve Columbus and Franklin County (15,000 people served last year) with homelessness prevention, shelter, street outreach, rapid re-housing, and permanent supportive housing.

Dress for Success

Empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and career development tools.

Equus Workforce Solutions

Workforce centers provide training, education, and employment assistance to job seekers while fulfilling the hiring needs of thousands of businesses, large and small. In addition, Equus virtual tools enable 24/7 access to services and support for job seekers, career changes, and businesses.

Franklin County Job & Family Services

Provides workforce development and family support programs that improve the quality of life for Franklin County residents.

Godman Guild

Provides programs that enhance the social and economic mobility of individuals and families in Central Ohio.

Goodwill Columbus

Transforms the lives of individuals through pathways to independence and the power of work. Human services range from job training to vocational habilitation, meeting people in their own communities.

IMPACT

Focuses its efforts and resources on moving people from crisis to stability, from stability to empowerment, and from empowerment to self-sufficiency.

Jewish Family Services

Helps people find jobs and companies find the right talent; supporting seniors and caregivers in navigating the challenges of aging; connects people to community resources; empowers family self- sufficiency through financial counseling; and provides opportunities for volunteers to give back.

New Directions Career Center

Improves the Franklin County community by providing career counseling to assist individuals, especially women, in achieving financial stability. Licensed Career Counselors and a team of knowledgeable staff deliver holistic programming addressing the needs of each individual.

Ohio Means Jobs Columbus- Franklin County

An online career and employment center, providing employers with access to resumes and individuals with job openings. Other features include a resume builder and rater, a budget calculator, skill and interest assessments, online tutorials, free GED and college entrance practice tests, and special sections for veterans, students, unemployment claimants, and workers with disabilities.

Ohio Means Jobs For Aging Population

An online career and employment centers providing employers with access to resumes and individuals with job openings.

Rentful 614

Connects individuals with partners who can assist with rent assistance, if they need help to avoid eviction.

Training Assessment Planning Program

Conviction-friendly production employment.

St. Stephen's Community House

Strengthens families and empowers the community.

Central Ohio Restored Citizen Collaborative

Fair chance employment services and job placement assistance.
